Meet Cara Davidson (MBACP, MNCPS Acc.), a dual-registered Integrative Psychotherapist with a Distinction MSc inIntegrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Wolverhamptonand a First-Class BSc (Honours) in Psychology from the University ofBirmingham.
Cara has experience working with bothchildren, young people and adults across specialist trauma, psychotherapy,neurodiversity, and crisis services. She has substantial experience supportingsurvivors of sexual violence and abuse, alongside over four years of experiencein suicide prevention, self-harm intervention, safeguarding, and crisissupport. She has a particular interest in trauma and neurodiversity, helpingpeople better understand themselves, explore their identity and sense of self,and find empowerment following diagnosis or significant life experiences. She is passionate about increasing awarenessand understanding of neurodiversity/mental health in women and girls.
Cara works integratively, meaning shetailors therapy to each person’s need & preferences. She draws on a rangeof therapeutic models, including Person-Centred Therapy, CBT, DBT, PsychodynamicTherapy, Gestalt Therapy, ACT and IFS approaches. Alongside her clinical work,Cara has conducted award-winning research into adverse childhood experiences(ACEs), existential anxiety, spirituality and identity development.

- Integrative Psychotherapist working within the BACP Ethical Framework including Person-Centred Therapy, CBT, DBT, Psychodynamic Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), ACT and child-centred therapy
- Over four years' experience in suicide prevention, self-harm intervention, crisis assessment, and safety planning
- Creating trauma-informed psychoeducational materials and workshops for clients, mental health services and schools
- Extensive experience supporting trauma, neurodiversity and complex mental health presentations
- Safeguarding, multi-disciplinary working and NICE-informed care planning
- Mental health advocacy and social justice campaigning, particularly for changes to the Mental Health Bill in UK Government and Senedd Cymru (Welsh Parliament)
